Rockland Electeds Tour Spring Valley Marketplace Renovation Progress

by M.C. Millman
As construction winds down on the biggest Heimishe retail mall in Rockland County after the Spring Valley Marketplace's major makeover, Rockland's elected officials were invited to tour the renovations this morning.
The project, which began last year, as reported by Rockland Daily here, was a tremendous one as it included the creation of a 60,000-square-foot interior mall. The new indoor shopping corridor replaced the Michaels and Bed Bath and Beyond storefronts with more than twenty-five different stores. While a grand opening is planned for later in the summer, stores will continue to open slowly as the summer progresses.
"The new Spring Valley Marketplace Mall is a great addition to our community," Town of Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht shares with Rockland Daily. "Its beautiful appearance will enhance the area and create a positive impact on the surrounding communities. It's always exciting to see new projects that contribute to the economic growth and attractiveness of our county."
Attendees included Michael Specht, Town of Ramapo Supervisor; Myrnia Bass-Hargrove, Rockland County Director of Community Relations; Rabbi Yisroel Kahan, Spring Valley Community Liaison; Asher Grossman, Spring Valley Trustee; and Reginald Anderson, Confidential Assistant to the Mayor of Spring Valley.
