Rockland DA's Office Welcomes First Certified Electronics Detection Dog in County

The Rockland County District Attorney's office announced its newest member, K9 Remy, the First Certified Electronics Detection Dog in Rockland County History
K9 Remy and her handler, Detective Tim Hayes, completed an intensive training program to be qualified as an electronics detection team. Detective Tim Hayes is a former U.S. Army Paratrooper and a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom. He was a NYPD Detective, working for 10 years with the department before joining the RCDAO. Remy is a one-year-old black lab who was born in Holland. She is trained to locate electronic devices such as laptops, cellphones, SD cards, and USB drives that contain illegal content. There are approximately 100 electronic detection K9’s in the entire country.
"K9 Remy" is named in honor of Rockland County resident and 9/11 civilian hero Welles Remy Crowther. We are very grateful to the Crowther family for their blessing and will continue to honor Welles’ legacy.
