Rockland County Sheriffs Office Communications Division Awarded Renewal of ATPC

Rockland Daily Staff

Rockland County Sheriffs Office is one of only four agencies in New York State and the only agency in the Hudson Valley to earn the prestigious national certification renewal of its Agency Training Program Certification (ATPC) from APCO International.

The ATPC recertification verifies that the Division meets the highest national standards for training of 9-1-1 dispatchers. The program encompasses 153 different areas of dispatcher training. The recertification is granted by an evaluation committee consisting of emergency dispatch professionals from across the country.

This is the Rockland County Sheriffs Office's second certification cycle; the Division initially achieved ATPC certification in January of 2020. Nationally, less than two percent of the 5,748 9-1-1 centers in the United States have earned this distinction.
