Rockland County Sheriff's Office Communications Division Welcomes Three New Radio Operators

By Rockland Daily Staff

The Rockland County Sheriff's Office Communications Division is pleased to announce the addition of three new Radio Operators to their team, each having successfully completed an extensive training program designed to ensure top-tier service in emergency communications.

Dennis Roberts has earned his position after more than 1,000 hours of study and supervised practice, including classroom instruction and live work under supervision. As part of the Communications Division’s nationally-accredited training program, Dennis passed three national certification exams. A graduate of Clarkstown High School South, Dennis is an active member of the New City Fire Engine Co. No. 1. His dedication and hard work make him a valued addition to the team, even though he’s a bit too tall for the usual camera shot!

Nick Winterbourne also completed over 1,000 hours of training, successfully balancing classroom learning and hands-on experience while passing three national certification exams. A graduate of Clarkstown South High School, Nick is an active member of both the West-Nyack Fire Department and Pearl River Alumni Ambulance Corp. His commitment to his community and his hard work throughout the training program have earned him a spot in the Communications Division, where his skills will no doubt prove invaluable.

Matthew Bates, a graduate of Suffern High School, is the third new Radio Operator to join the team. Matt, who previously studied at SUNY Rockland Community College, has completed the rigorous training program, accumulating over 1,000 hours of study and supervised practice. Like his colleagues, he passed three national certification exams and is an active member of the Sloatsburg Fire Department.

All three individuals have demonstrated exceptional dedication to their training and have proven themselves ready to step into their new roles with the Sheriff's Office. They are now officially #readyrockland and prepared to serve the community with the highest level of expertise.
