Rockland Daily Staff
As part of Rockland's Open Space Acquisition Program, the County has purchased two parcels located in Pomona totaling 13.34 acres for $1.39 million.
The newest acquisition, which follows close on the heels of the purchase of 11.83 acres of vacant residential land belonging to Davies Farm, Inc, as reported by Rockland Daily, is located west of Route 45 and east of the Palisades Parkway.
During his most recent State of the County address, County Executive Ed Day mentioned plans for Rockland County to make three Open Space land purchases.
The second purchase of vacant land is located at 1015 and 1019 Route 45 in Pomona and includes woodlands, wetlands, and a primitive walking trail. The land will be dedicated parkland, according to a restrictive covenant recorded with the deed.
