Rockland County Legislature Passes Resolution in Support of Israel While Condemning Hamas

The Rockland County Legislature passed a  resolution tonight condemning Hamas and supporting Israel. 

Resolution 8825 forcefully condemns the horrific acts of Hamas terrorists against Israeli civilians. It reaffirms Israel's right to exist and take actions necessary to defend itself against outside attacks. 

The bipartisan bill was unanimously approved and sponsored by Legislators Alden Wolfe, Aron Wieder, Itamar Yeger, Joel Friedman, Harriet Cornell, Michael Grant, Jay Hood, Aney Paul, Phil Soskin, Lon Hofstein, Christopher Carey, Douglas Jobson, Laurie Santulli, and James Foley. 

"I want to thank my colleagues for passing a bipartisan resolution concerning the sickening and inhuman attacks on innocent civilians," Legislator Yeger shares exclusively with Rockland Daily. "It pains me greatly that on university campuses all across the United States, supposedly intelligent students support Hamas even in the face of its torture, killing, and kidnapping of the young, the old, and everyone in between. Those who support Hamas have lost their humanity and should be shunned for their views. 

"I call on all people who have even a shred of humanity in them to unequivocally condemn this senseless attack on the victims of these atrocities and Hamas, whose stated goal is to kill Jews. Please remember, they will be coming for you next."

"Tonight, the  Rockland County Legislator passed a resolution strongly condemning Hamas for horrifying, inhumane actions," Legislator Wieder states on X. "We are united in our effort to stand strong and demonstrate that good can and must prevail over the evil that has cast a dark shadow over us since the start of the war."
