Rockland County Homeowners Complete Second Most Solar Installations of O&R Customers

Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. (O&R) shared that their customers added approximately 30 megawatts of customer solar power to O&R’s electric system in 2023 through the first quarter of 2024.
In New York, Orange County O&R customers lead the O&R service area in the number of solar installations placed since 2001. Customers there placed about 6,700 installations with a total capacity of approximately 155 megawatts.
Rockland County O&R customers run second with about 5,300 installations since 2001 with a total capacity of approximately 50 megawatts.
O&R Vice President - Operations Won Choe said, “It takes all of us to build a cleaner future, and we applaud our customers for doing their part to help us during this transition.
“Through our programs and incentives, we look forward to another year of strong, steady progress as we work together with our customers to support New York’s and New Jersey’s clean energy goals.”
Altogether, O&R customers have completed nearly 14,000 installations with the capacity to produce almost 250 megawatts of electricity since 2001.
