Rockland County Firefighting Students Closing in on Completion of BEFO Training

By Akivah W.

Rockland County Fire and Emergency Services announced that its Basic Exterior Firefighting Operations (BEFO) students are approaching the completion of their training, soon preparing to advance to Interior Firefighting Operations.

As the program wraps up, the recruits are sharpening essential skills critical to fireground operations. Their training has included putting up ladders, stretching hose lines, and connecting fire engines to hydrants — all foundational techniques that every firefighter must master.

The department noted that the journey these students have taken will remain with them throughout their service, laying the groundwork for their future as fully qualified firefighters.
