Rockland County Celebrates Completion of New Dam in New City

By Rockland Daily Staff
Yesterday, Rockland County celebrated the new dam's completion at the Zebrowski-Morahan Demarest Kill County Park in New City.
The year-long, $5.7 million rehabilitation project for the 30-acre park with a 2.5-acre pond began January 3, 2023, as reported by Rockland Daily here, and brought the dam, estimated to be more than 75 years old, up to current safety standards.
Rockland County Legislature Minority Leader Lon M. Hofstein, Vince Altieri, executive director of the County Drainage Agency, who oversaw the project, members of the Zebrowski and Morahan families, and County Executive and Division of Environmental Resources Park Operations Manager Michael DiMola were among those attending the celebration.
