By Y.M. Lowy
The Rockland County Board of Elections is currently recruiting residents to serve as Election Inspectors for upcoming elections. Responsibilities include checking IDs, monitoring the poll equipment, and assisting with random election procedures throughout the day.
Before Election Day, all inspectors must take a mandatory 3-hour training class. The training costs $25 and covers the procedures, rules, and responsibilities of the role. On Election Day, Election Inspectors are compensated $300 for their service.
Training sessions are held at the Robert Yeager Health Complex, located at 50 Sanitorium Road, Pomona, NY.
