Rockland County Approves More Than $1 Million in NYS Homeland Security Grants
Last week, Rockland County  Sheriff Louis Falco joined County Executive Ed Day to approve two grants slated for Rockland County from the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services.

The two grants are worth $1,017,362 combined. One is for a Statewide Interoperable Communications Grant (SICG) in the amount of $758,386. It will be used to enhance emergency response by improving interoperability and operability of communications systems in New York State.

The second grant comes from the State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) in the amount of $258,976. It will be used to enhance the preparedness efforts of Rockland County's counter-terrorism team in the event of a terrorist attack or mass casualty incident.
