Robbery and Knife Assault on E. Hickory Street in Hillcrest

A violent robbery took place late last night on East Hickory Street in the Hillcrest section of the Town of Ramapo, leaving a woman injured and requiring emergency medical care. Officers from the Ramapo Police Department were called to the scene after reports of an assault during a robbery.

Authorities shared with Rockland Daily that the victim, an adult woman, suffered several knife-slash wounds in addition to facial injuries. EMS transported her to a local hospital, where she was stabilized. Her age has not yet been released, and no updates on her condition were immediately available.

Police told Rockland Daily that the suspect is described as a Black male who was wearing a face covering at the time of the attack. He fled the area on foot, heading toward North Main Street. Officers searched the surrounding streets shortly after the incident, and the investigation remained active through the night.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the robbery or seen the suspect running from the area to contact the Ramapo Police Department as soon as possible. The case is still under investigation.
