Ribbon-Cutting for Sunrise Development, First “X-7” Housing Development in Ramapo

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held this afternoon at 22 Decatur Avenue in Monsey, marking the completion of a new multi-family residential condominium developed under the recently approved X-7 zoning. The event drew community members, local leaders, and several elected officials who gathered to celebrate the milestone.

The ceremony took place at 1:00 p.m. and was hosted by sunrise development, the developer behind the project. Light refreshments were served as guests toured the site and viewed the finished exterior and interior of the new development. Representatives emphasized the building’s role in meeting the area’s growing housing needs and noted that the updated zoning played a key role in bringing the project forward.

Sruly Eisenbach, who serves as the Chairman of the Planning Board for the Town of Ramapo, told Rockland Daily: “As the chairman, I’m pleased to see the first-ever X-7 development being built and delivered. 

“We all know that there’s a housing shortage in Ramapo, and this development will begin to address this problem—especially since these apartments will be affordable for young families, and have sufficient parking and play areas. This is just the beginning—because we anticipate many X-7 projects to be built in the future.” 

Attendees remarked on the significance of continued residential development in Monsey and the importance of expanding modern housing options for local families. The event concluded with the official ribbon cutting, marking the opening of the new condominium property.
