Readers Write: Having a Ball This Summer

As someone who recently experienced the horror of watching from a distance as a child was nearly hit by a car as he singlemindedly chased a ball into the street, I am reminding parents that as summer is just around the corner, please, make it a point to teach and remind children of all ages not to run into the street. 

At the same time, for those with first-time teen drivers - teach them to be aware that if they see a ball rolling towards them from between two parked cars, they should be prepared to brake as it is almost inevitable that a few seconds later, a child will come tearing after it.
