By Idy Perl
On June 26, Ramapo Police Officers arrested a local 17-year-old who was found to be in possession of a ghost gun.
The gun was found while officers were responding to a domestic incident at a local residence. During the investigation, a 9mm ghost gun loaded with eight rounds of ammo was discovered in the teenager's possession . Ghost guns are guns without a serial number, making them untraceable and a risk to public safety as police have no way of tracing them.
The suspect was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree and Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and was released on an appearance ticket to the Youth Part of the Superior Court.
