By Rockland Daily Staff

With Purim approaching, Ramapo Police Chief Daniel Hyman announced that the department will ramp up patrols and coordinate with the Town’s Office of Emergency Preparedness and community partners, including Chaverim of Rockland, to help ensure a safe and secure holiday for all residents celebrating.

With the joyous holiday of Purim just around the corner, the Ramapo Police Department is working closely with the Town’s Office of Emergency Preparedness and Safety, along with our community partners, including Chaverim of Rockland, to ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday for all who are celebrating. You will see additional Ramapo Police officers on duty and increased patrols around religious and community gathering locations throughout the holiday. These high-visibility patrols are part of our commitment to the safety and security of our community. Purim is a time of celebration, family, and tradition, and we are proud to support our community during this special holiday. As always, if you see something that doesn’t look right, please call your local police department right away. Your awareness and partnership help keep our community safe. On behalf of the men and women of the Ramapo Police Department, we wish everyone celebrating a safe, happy, and joyous Purim.

Town Supervisor Michael Specht said:

On behalf of the Town of Ramapo, I'm wishing everyone a joyful and safe Purim. Our police will have a heightened presence throughout the Town to ensure safety as people gather to celebrate and visit their friends and neighbors. On addition, please be mindful of increased vehicular and pedestrian traffic, and be alert to the weather with possible snow falling before or on Purim which may impact people's ability to get around. Stay safe, and a freilichen Purim to all!
