Ramapo Police Honor Yonkers Police Sergeant Killed in a Head-on Crash Involving Teen Driver

Ramapo Police officers paid their last respects to the life of fallen Yonkers Sergeant Frank Gualdino, standing among the sea of blue as his casket made its way past the officers at his funeral on Wednesday. 

The 53-year-old sergeant was a 24-year police veteran. He had planned to retire in August but was killed last week in a tragic head-on crash on Tuckahoe Road in Yonkers. 

The accident occurred when a 16-year-old driver lost control of a speeding BMW M5. His car crossed a double yellow line and crashed into oncoming traffic, including Gualdino's car and a Westchester County Bee-Line bus.
