Ramapo Police Hold Ceremony Honoring Newly Promoted Sgt. John Genito

The Town of Ramapo recognized the promotion of Sgt. John Genito during a ceremony held Wednesday evening at the start of the Town Board meeting.

The brief ceremony honored Sgt. Genito in the presence of town officials, fellow officers, family members, and members of the community as he officially assumed his new role within the Ramapo Police Department.

Sgt. Genito has served with the Ramapo Police Department for several years and has earned recognition for his dedication to traffic safety and DWI enforcement. Earlier this year, he was named among Rockland County's top DWI enforcement officers for 2025.

Ramapo Police Chief Dan Hyman congratulated Sgt. Genito on his promotion and thanked the community for its continued support of the department.

The promotion marks another milestone in Sgt. Genito's law enforcement career as he takes on his new leadership responsibilities within the department.
