By Rockland Daily Staff
The Ramapo Police Department Firearms Training Unit conducted a training for its officers yesterday.
The training is one of many that take place around the year in the ongoing efforts of the Ramapo Police Department under Chief Martin Reilly and the Town of Ramapo under the leadership of Supervisor Michael Specht in keeping one step ahead of what the community needs with regard to safety enhancements for the overall wellbeing of all town residents.
The training included a ballistics demonstration as well as training in shooting in and around a vehicle. Officers were able to shoot from and around a vehicle on the training field. Participants included both new Ramapo Police Department hires who learned new techniques and veteran officers who were able to enhance their skills and offer their own tips during the training.
