Ramapo Police Chief Joins 9/11 Memorial Ceremony in Jerusalem

Town of Ramapo Police Chief Dan Hyman participated in a solemn ceremony at the 9/11 Living Memorial in Jerusalem, Israel, joining colleagues, intelligence partners, and representatives from the Community Security Initiative, Community Security Service, Israel Police, Israel Defense Forces, and the Major City Chiefs Delegation. Ambassador Mike Huckabee and members of New York City’s first responder community were also in attendance.

The gathering honored the memory of those lost on September 11, 2001, while recognizing the ongoing toll of that day’s events on survivors and first responders. The memorial features a 30-foot sculpture of a U.S. flag rising into a flame, with steel from the Twin Towers at its base, a powerful symbol of remembrance and resilience.

Organizers noted that holding the ceremony in a region facing ongoing terror attacks underscores the shared commitment to vigilance and security.
