Ramapo Catskill Library System Announces Systemwide Upgrade

Ramapo Catskill Library System Announces Systemwide Upgrade
The Ramapo Catskill Library System will upgrade all forty-seven member libraries to a new integrated library system (ILS) to better serve the community starting Thursday, August 1 through Sunday, August 4.

An Integrated Library System (ILS) is a comprehensive software suite that integrates various library functions. It serves as a digital card catalog and checkout system, managing day-to-day operations such as cataloging books and handling checkouts. Often referred to as the central nervous system of library automation, an ILS efficiently tracks collections and loaned items.

The upgrade will improve access to materials, enhance research capabilities and amplify the overall library experience for users online and in-person. The upgraded system will better serve users through new features and services, such as improved accessibility for all types of materials including digital resources.

During and after the upgrade, all patrons' account information will remain the same including library card numbers, and PINs.

During the upgrade, each library is adjusting its hours of operation differently, and some may be closed.
