Police And Bystander Rescue Drowning Man In Haverstraw
By Idy Perl
Last Friday, helpful bystander and police rescued a drowning man at Emeline Park in Haverstraw.
Haverstraw Police officers responded to reports of a drowning in progress at the park. Upon arrival, they found that the victim, a 52-year-old man, was unconscious in the water, around 100 feet from the shore.
Together with good samaritans in the park, the officers entered the water and pulled the man to safety. Once he was out of the water, CPR was performed until the victim regained a pulse. He was then taken to a hospital for further treatment.
