Piermont Pier Partially Closed Following Inspection

A few days ago the Piermont Fire Department conducted a safety inspection of the Piermont Pier.

Several firefighters got into boats to inspect the underside of the pier, where they noticed severe decay of the concrete.

Based on engineering guidelines, the Village Board decided to close off the end of the pier to vehicles and pedestrians until the pier can be repaired.
