Piermont Fire Department Reveals Details Of Hudson River Recovery Search

The Piermont Fire Department released details of the search in the Hudson River that took place earlier this week at Haverstraw Beach State Park. 

On Wednesday evening, multiple local rescue teams responded to a missing person who was last seen entering the water at Haverstraw Beach State Park  and was suspected to have drowned. A total of 16 Piermont Fire Department members, including 6 divers, responded to the scene and set up a grid search in the water. 

After multiple passes with a side scan system, the victim was located around 30 feet from the shore. With assistance from other rescue teams, the body was transferred onto the boat and transported to the Rockland County Medical Examiner.

The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Eric A. Chugchilin from Spring Valley
