Phase Two of Water Main Project Underway on Saddle River Road

Phase two of the major water infrastructure project in Monsey is now underway, with crews from Veolia beginning work this week along Saddle River Road.

The current phase is focused on the stretch between Maple Avenue and Homestead Lane and is expected to continue through the week, possibly into Monday, May 11. Weather permitting, crews are scheduled to move to the next section—from Homestead Lane to Grove Street—beginning Tuesday, May 12, with work expected to run through May 18.

As Rockland Daily previously reported, the project includes significant water main upgrades designed to improve long-term service reliability throughout the area.

Town crews are coordinating closely with Veolia to keep the project moving efficiently. Detours have been shared with residents and local bus companies, while the Ramapo Police Department will be on site to assist with traffic management.

As with earlier phases on Grove Street, no work will take place on Fridays, and roads will reopen each evening once crews wrap up for the day.

Town of Ramapo Highway Superintendent Fred Brinn expressed the importance of the project, in a conversation with Rockland Daily, noting that “these upgrades are critical to strengthening the system and ensuring reliable water service for residents now and into the future.”

Once completed, the installation of the new water mains along Grove Street and North Saddle River Road will significantly strengthen and increase the overall service capacity and reliability of the water supply in the area and beyond.
