O&R Urges Customers To Use Energy Efficiently Amidst Heat Wave

By Idy Perl

As the heat wave in Rockland continues, O&R is asking customers to ration their electricity use so that the power grid is able to meet the demand and avoid outages.

To save money and stay comfortable, O&R encourages customers to close windows and doors, as well as shades and curtains, when the AC is running to keep the sun out and help the home remain cool. When the house is empty, customers should turn off or lower AC so as not to use too much energy.

O&R's team is ready to respond to any outages that take place. To report an outage text "OUT" to 678797 or visit http://www.oru.com/reportoutage
