By Chana Weinman
According to the US National Weather Service, a period of strong to possibly damaging winds of 45 to 50 mph is anticipated, mainly during tonight, along with isolated thunderstorms. A wind advisory has been issued for Rockland from Wednesday evening into Thursday morning.
Orange and Rockland is preparing its emergency response crews for the storm, which is expected to roar through the region starting this evening at around 6 p.m.
The short-lived storm looks to pack a punch with its heavy wind gusts that might topple trees and power lines following rain throughout the day today; the storm is expected to blow out by Thursday morning after daybreak.
