Nyack Adjusts Trash and Brush Pickup as DPW Crews Respond to Sinkhole

The Village of Nyack announced changes to its trash and brush collection schedule Monday as Department of Public Works crews deal with limited staffing while responding to a sinkhole at the DPW facility.

According to the village, DPW crews are focusing Monday’s trash collection on the north side of Main Street. Crews are expected to return Tuesday to complete trash collection on the south side of Main Street.

Brush bags, meanwhile, are scheduled to be collected on Wednesday.

The temporary changes come as several DPW employees are working to address the sinkhole at the department’s facility, leaving the department short-staffed for regular collection operations.

Village officials thanked residents for their patience and cooperation as crews work to maintain regular services while addressing the emergency repair.
