New York Needs Your Help

By Idy Perl
Ever since the shared path on the Governor Mario M. Cuomo
Bridge was completed, bicycle and runner traffic has increased along the US 9W
corridor between the bridge and the George Washington Bridge.
The New York Metropolitan Transportation Council is exploring
the possibility of creating a walkway to connect the two bridges and make it easier for pedestrians
to get from one to the other in order to cross back over the Hudson River.
The NY Metropolitan Transportation Council is having several
pop-up events over the weekend for residents to share their ideas for ways to
make a Palisades Shared Use Path to connect the two bridges between the 20
miles that separate them.
The pop-up events will take place at:
Saturday, August 3
9am-11am at The 9W Market
12pm-2pm at Mario M. Cuomo Bridge, Rockland Landing
Sunday, August 4
9am-11am at George Washington Bridge
12pm-2pm at Palisades Park Ranger Station in Alpine, NJ
