Nearly 30 Tickets Issued in 2 Hours During Ramapo School Safety Crackdown

Ramapo Police say their Traffic Safety Unit carried out a targeted enforcement operation focused on pedestrian safety and school bus safety during student pickup hours.

According to police, officers issued nearly 30 summonses in about two hours. Violations included cell phone use while driving, lane infractions, and red-light violations.

Police said the enforcement was aimed at reducing dangerous driving behaviors around schools and crosswalks, and reminded motorists to stay alert, obey traffic signals, and avoid distractions, especially during peak pickup and drop-off times.
