Monsey Firefighters Recognized and Honored by Ramapo Officials

Supervisor Michael Specht and the Ramapo Town Board presented the Brewer Fire Engine Company No. 1 with a Certificate of Recognition for their heroic efforts in performing two complex rescues at different locations on the morning of May 12, 2025. 

Supervisor Specht said “thanks to the heroic and coordinated efforts of the more than 30 firefighters who worked seamlessly to perform highly technical rescues the two victims survived.”

Yossi Gestetner, Director of Public Affairs for the Monsey Fire Department said in a statement that "the firefighters of the Monsey FD are doing amazing work on a constant basis in the form of training, responding to emergencies, and by giving aid to neighboring fire departments. 

“The effectiveness and speed of the Monsey Fire Department saves lives and property on a steady basis."
