Local Officials Break Ground For Community Outreach Center Expansion

Local Officials Break Ground For Community Outreach Center Expansion

By Idy Perl

On Sunday afternoon a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the start of construction for the massive $1.6 million expansion coming to the Community Outreach Center in the heart of Monsey.

Many local elected officials and community leaders were in attendance, including Congressman Mike Lawler, who assisted in securing the funding for the project, Senator Bill Weber, Ramapo Town Supervisor Michael Specht, District Attorney Thomas Walsh, and more.

“It was an honor to join the Community Outreach Center on Sunday for the groundbreaking of their new expansion project," Congressman Lawler told Rockland Daily. "This is big win for the Town of Ramapo and for families across Rockland County. I was proud to help secure $1.6 million in federal funding for the COC’s expansion because this project will make a real difference, supporting kids, seniors, and working families who rely on these resources every day. With construction now underway, I look forward to seeing the new center open its doors.”
