Local Airport Expands Winter Routes With Plans for More Local Routes in the Works

Delta announced two new winter routes that will fly through Westchester County Airport.

New daily flights to West Palm Beach and Orlando will fly out of Westchester Airport starting November 10 through May 6, 2024.

Stewart International Airport might also see flight additions if Assemblyman Beephan has his way.  The assemblyman would like to see more routes for local airports,  particularly Stewart International Airport. 

In the past, airlines have come and gone at Stewart International, as airlines chose to take advantage of short-term financial incentives offered by the Port Authority for utilizing the location. The airlines would leave two years later after the incentives expired.

Beephan is working on getting major airlines to give the airport another try based on its proximity to Woodbury Common Premium Outlets, historical landmarks, and other cultural incentives so they can provide long-term, dependable air service for locals who otherwise have to travel for more than an hour to an airport the major airlines fly from.

Besides working on convincing airlines to give Stewart Airport a try, Beephan would also like to persuade the Port Authority to create longer-term incentives to encourage airlines to take the bait and hang around for longer than just two years.
