Lawler Secures Major Federal Funding for Rockland County Projects

Congressman Mike Lawler voted in favor of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, a bipartisan funding package that finalizes federal funding for Fiscal Year 2026 and includes major funding secured by Lawler for multiple Rockland County projects.

Lawler said the appropriations process allows Congress to deliver tangible results for local communities. The package includes funding aimed at strengthening public safety, improving infrastructure, and supporting essential local services across Rockland County.

Among the funding secured by Lawler is $2.6 million for a new Rockland County Sheriff’s training facility, $5 million for the Town of Clarkstown and the Nanuet Transit-Oriented Development project, and $5 million for sidewalk improvements in Ramapo. Additional allocations include $1.3 million for sidewalks in Orangetown, $4 million for road infrastructure in the Village of New Square, and $1 million for Memorial Drive reconstruction in the Village of Suffern.

The legislation, which is now headed to the Senate for approval, also provides $1 million for bus transit in the Village of Kaser and $500,000 for Ready Transit in the Town of Ramapo, among other things.

Lawler said the funding reflects his ongoing efforts to secure federal dollars for Rockland County priorities and ensure local communities receive the resources needed to move key projects forward.
