Keep Rockland Beautiful Announces Fall Community Cleanup Events Across Clarkstown

Keep Rockland Beautiful is inviting residents to participate in a series of community cleanup events throughout Clarkstown this fall, offering opportunities for families, volunteers and local organizations to help keep neighborhoods and public spaces clean.

The fall cleanup campaign, held under the theme “Clean Sweep for Clean Streams,” includes five events scheduled between October 10 and November 8 at various locations throughout Clarkstown.

The first event, the KRB Community Cleanup, took place October 10 at 10 a.m. at the New City Library parking lot, 220 North Main Street. A second cleanup, organized by New City Rotary, is scheduled for October 17 at 9 a.m. behind Clarkstown Town Hall off Route 304.

On October 24, volunteers will gather for the Lake DeForest Community Cleanup at 9 a.m., with parking at the New City Little League Fields, 39 Strawtown Road, and signs directing participants to check-in.

Two additional events are scheduled in Nanuet. The Nanuet Community Cleanup will take place November 7 at 9 a.m. at the Nanuet Train Station parking lot, 25 Prospect Street. The following day, November 8, the Nanuet Civic Association will host a cleanup beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Nanuet Library, 149 Church Street.

Organizers say all necessary cleanup supplies will be provided, and the events are designed to be family-friendly. Participants can also take advantage of team-building opportunities and earn community service hours.

Residents interested in volunteering can register at KeepRocklandBeautiful.org.
