July 4 Fireworks Shows Near You

Independence Day celebrations are back in full swing in Rockland County and beyond. Here are the schedules for the best July 4th celebration in the Rockland County area. 

Clarkstown 

June 30, at Felix Festa Middle School on Parrot Road in West Nyack. Entertainment and activities will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by Rockland County Radio Control Club Flying Demonstration from 7:15 - 7:45 p.m., a Rock n Roll concert by "Mighty Spectrum Band" at 8:00 p.m. Fireworks to follow. 

Nyack

July 4 at Memorial Park in Nyack. The fireworks display will be from 9:30 - 10 p.m. 

Orangetown ​​

Monday, July 4, in Orangetown at Memorial Park.

Pearl River

July 4, at the Pearl River Central Avenue Fields. 

Pomona

Sunday, July 3 and July 4 at the Clover Stadium in Pomona. The Fireworks extravaganza will be after the game at the ballpark. 

On July 4, gates will open at 4 p.m. for some pre-game musical fun prior to the Boulders' showdown with the rival Sussex County Miners - first pitch at 6 p.m. Patriotic Caps will be distributed to fans in attendance.

Poughkeepsie

Monday, July 4, at the Walkway Over the Hudson from 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. While this location is far out for Rocklanders, the City of Poughkeepsie fireworks display provides a unique experience to see fireworks from eye level with an unobstructed view 212 feet above the Hudson River on the World's Longest Elevated Pedestrian Bridge. Tickets are required for entry, but children until age 10 are free. 

​​Spring Valley 

Sunday, July 3, at Memorial Park in Spring Valley. The fireworks display begins at 9 p.m.

Stony Point

Sunday, July 3, at the Stony Point Battlefield State Historic Site. You can catch a reading of the Declaration of Independence at 2:45 p.m. and hear the cannon roar at 3 p.m. at 44 Battlefield Road, Stony Point. 

On July 9, an Evening Battlefield Lantern Walk with a costumed soldier at dusk includes the sound of musket and cannon fire. Attendees will learn about the daring attack on the British garrison. There is a fee of $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and children. Call  845-786-2521 to make reservations that are required for the walk.
