Chaverim of Rockland added another vehicle to its growing fleet Monday morning, as Interstate Toyota on Route 59 donated a new emergency vehicle to the organization to help support its around-the-clock operations across Rockland County.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Monday morning at Interstate Toyota on Route 59 to mark the donation and officially welcome the new vehicle into Chaverim’s fleet.

Many elected officials participated in the event, including Congressman Mike Lawler, Assemblyman Aron Wieder, State Senator Bill Weber, Ramapo Town Supervisor Michael Specht, Ramapo Chief of Staff Mona Montal, Democratic State Senate candidate Joe Rand, Rockland County Legislators Moshe Hopstein and Jesse Malowitz, Spring Valley Mayor Schenley Vital, Spring Valley Trustee Yakov Yosef Kaufman, Ramapo Superintendent of Highways Fred Brinn.

Also participating were the Meletzer Rav, Rabbi Horowitz, Spring Valley Police Chief Richard Oleszczuk, Spring Valley law enforcement officials and representatives, law enforcement officials from the Ramapo Police Department, representatives of the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office, Tallman Fire Department and Faist EMS Lieutenant Chaim Klein, many Chaverim coordinators and members, Interstate Toyota leadership, and community leaders.

Chaverim officials who spoke at the event thanked Interstate Toyota for its continued efforts to accommodate and support the Orthodox Jewish community, including adjusting Sunday service availability for customers who cannot bring their vehicles in on Shabbos, and pointed to even small touches such as providing kosher milk, coffee, and candies for Jewish customers as part of a broader effort to make the community feel more comfortable and at home — and now, with the donation of a new vehicle to Chaverim, further demonstrating the longstanding relationship, appreciation, and cooperation between Interstate Toyota and the community.

The new Toyota Chaverim vehicle, beautifully wrapped and fully branded for the organization, was presented to the crowd during the event ahead of joining Chaverim’s emergency fleet.

The new vehicle will become part of Chaverim’s expanding fleet and will be used by volunteers responding to a wide range of emergencies throughout the community.

The ribbon cutting marked another significant addition to Chaverim’s fleet as the organization continues expanding its resources to meet the needs of the growing Rockland County community.
