Hudson Valley Residents Submit Nearly 400 Submissions to State Effort to Cut Regulations and Improve Services
YSR.
Residents and organizations across the Hudson Valley submitted nearly 400 submissions to Governor Kathy Hochul’s EXPRESS NY initiative, a statewide effort inviting the public to suggest which regulations should be reduced or eliminated to make it easier to run businesses and access services.
The initiative, launched in February, drew nearly 2,000 participants across all 62 counties, mostly from New York City, who submitted over 3,700 recommendations focused on improving how government operates, particularly in areas such as small business, housing, and child care.
State officials are now reviewing the submissions to determine which proposals can move forward, with an initial round of regulatory changes expected later this spring and additional updates planned through the summer.
Other regions with strong participation included the Capital Region, Long Island, and Western New York, with similar concerns raised across the state.
