Haverstraw Factory Fire Fills Skyline With Smoke

Emergency personnel, including a Hazmat team, are at the scene of a fire with huge plumes of smoke coming from Tilcon New York, Inc., a quarry and asphalt plant located at 59 Riverside Drive in Haverstraw.

The factory's conveyor belt and a stone-crushing tower are involved in the blaze.

The Haverstraw, West Haverstraw, New City, Thiells, Stony Point, and Monsey Fire Departments are also at the scene.

The factory is involved in the construction of buildings, quarrying of stone, sand, and clay for general contractors, and constructing roads and railways.
