Frozen Lake Ice Rescue in New City

Thursday evening, at around 6:40 PM, the Haverstraw Fire Department’s Ice Rescue Team responded to a critical call to assist New City Fire Department in a rescue operation.

Two people were stranded in a canoe surrounded by icy waters, prompting an urgent response.

Despite the challenging conditions, two ice rescue technicians were deployed to the scene. With their specialized equipment, they safely rescued both individuals and brought them back to safety.
