At approximately 1:30 a.m. on September 22, Clarkstown police officers on patrol conducted a traffic stop on North Main Street in New City that resulted in the firearm arrest of Javier A. Ordonez, 38, of Hollywood, Florida.

After running a red light on North Main Street, Ordonez was pulled over and asked to exit his vehicle. Upon further investigation, officers recovered a Colt 9mm semiautomatic from the center console and two loaded magazines in a bag on the passenger's seat.

As Ordonez did not have a permit to carry in New York, he was placed under arrest and charged with Criminal Possession Firearm 2nd (C Felony), Criminal Possession Firearm (E Felony), and several vehicle and traffic law infractions. He was arraigned in Clarkstown Court by the Honorable Michael Bongiorno, where bail was set for $10,000.00 Cash, $25,000.00 Bond.
