Yisroel R.
State Senator Bill Weber has come out on top in the Rockland Daily reader poll for the highly watched 38th Senate District race, finishing ahead of challenger Joe Rand after nearly 2,500 Rockland Daily readers participated over the past several days.
With the poll now closed, Weber received 1,308 votes, or 53.4%, while Rand received 1,143 votes, or 46.6%. A total of 2,451 readers cast their choice, giving Weber a 165-vote advantage and a 6.8-point lead in the final results.
The Rockland Daily poll was an online reader poll known as a Sraw Poll and is not scientific. The results represent only those readers who chose to participate and should not be viewed as an official election result or a scientific prediction of how the race will ultimately turn out.
The Senate race is far from the only major contest before Rockland voters this year. In the 17th Congressional District, Congressman Mike Lawler is seeking another term against Democratic challenger Cait Conley in a closely watched congressional race.
In the 97th Assembly District, Assemblyman Aron Wieder is seeking reelection, while several important local offices are also on the ballot across Rockland. In Ramapo, Town Supervisor Michael Specht and Highway Superintendent Fred Brinn are both seeking another term.
The statewide ballot also features the race for governor between Governor Kathy Hochul and Republican challenger Bruce Blakeman, adding another major contest to an election featuring races at the federal, state and local levels.
With the Rockland Daily straw poll now officially completed, the final decision in these races will be made by voters themselves on Election Day. Rockland Daily encourages residents to make their voices heard and take part in the democratic process.
Early voting is underway at several locations across Rockland, including Ramapo Town Hall on Route 59, the Fire Training Center in Pomona, and the Pascack Community Center in Nanuet, along with locations in Clarkstown, Haverstraw, Orangetown, and Stony Point.
Rockland Daily thanks each of the 2,451 readers who participated in the Senate District 38 reader poll. While Bill Weber has won the Rockland Daily poll, the real results will be decided at the ballot box.
