Elijah Reichlin-Melnick And Pat Carroll Meet With Haverstraw Rabbanim

Elijah Reichlin-Melnick and Pat Carroll, who is running for NY 96th Assembly, which includes Haverstraw, met with several rabbis of the Haverstraw and Garnerville community yesterday. 

The meeting took place in the home of Rabbi Reidel in Haverstraw, and included Rabbi Kagan, Rabbi Slansky, and various askanim of the neighborhood. Reichlin-Melnick was warmly and enthusiastically welcomed, and the participants expressed their gratitude that he took the time to sit down and meet with them to discuss pressing community matters.

Reichlin-Melnick explained the benefits of having a pragmatic, Democratic representative for the district, as it will help fight against the tide of progressivism in the party. He pledged to put all his energies into finding solutions for community concerns such as the East Ramapo School budget, and to protect the rights of parents and the private schools they choose to send their children to, so they should be able to continue educating their children according to their beliefs.

At the conclusion of the meeting the rabbanim wished Reichlin-Melnick and Carroll success with their respective races and asked to keep in close touch after the election as well.
