Eligible EZ-Pass Customers Urged To Recertify Cuomo Bridge Discount

By Idy Perl

This month letters were sent to around 60,000 EZ-Pass customers in Rockland and Westchester counties to remind drivers to update their account in order to recertify for the resident discount to cross the Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge.

Drivers with an EZ-Pass NY account and a license plate registered in Rockland or Westchester are eligible for a discounted $5.4o toll on the Cuomo Bridge instead of the standard $6.75 toll. Approximately 235,000 customers take advantage of the discount, and although most accounts are automatically renewed, some drivers need to take action to keep their discount.

Those customers received letters which include instructions on how to recertify, which can be done by in the next 30 days by getting in touch with EZ-Pass by phone, mail, or on their website at e-zpassny.com.

“We understand the importance of these discount programs for lower Hudson Valley residents,” Thruway Authority spokeswoman Jennifer Givner said . “This due diligence protects customers who are eligible for the discounts. This is also part of our efforts to collect every toll dollar owed to us.”
