Electricians Union Begins Recruitment Drive

Starting September 15, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) - the largest union of electrical workers in North America, will hold a year-long local recruitment drive for electrician apprentices.

Applicants must have lived within a 60-mile radius of White Plains for the past two years, and at least 18 years old, and be a high school graduate (or equivalent.) Applicants will need to pass a medical examination after selection and prior to enrollment in the apprenticeship and have reliable means of transportation and a drivers license to get to a from job sites and required classes at the approved school. There is also an Electrical Trades Aptitude Test that applicants must pass.

Interested parties can request an application by email from [email protected] from September 15 through September 14, 2024.

Completed applications should then be mailed to the Westchester-Fairfield Joint Electrical Apprenticeship Training Committee, 200 Bloomingdale Road, White Plains, NY 10605, and postmarked no later than September 14, 2024.

There is a non-refundable application fee of $25 which can be waived upon showing verifiable proof of financial need.
