Economic Impact Study Reveals O&R's $2 Billion Impact on NY/NJ

HR&A Advisors' most recent impact study showed that Orange and Rockland Utilities contribute $1.9 billion annually to New York’s and New Jersey’s economies. 

Additionally, O&R provides over 3,400 jobs through direct employees plus further jobs generated through the company’s economic activity For every 1 Orange & Rockland employee, the company's economic activity supports another 2 jobs in New York and New Jersey. Eighty-three percent of O&R employees are New York residents. 

In addition to the $88 million in direct taxes to New York and New Jersey, O&R contributes about $96 million in local taxes, which include $59 million to Rockland County. This is enough tax revenue to pay 2,300 public school teachers or 2,800 social workers.
