Early Morning Fire in Clarkstown

The residents on Svahn Drive in Valley Cottage all escaped without injury after a fire reported 8:37 a.m. caused significant damage to the house. 

One firefighter was taken to Montefiore Nyack Hospital with minor injuries.

Valley Cottage Fire Department 22, Congers Fire Department, West-Nyack Fire Department, Central Nyack Fire Department, and New City Fire Engine Co. No. 1 were all at the scene battling the fire. Rockland Paramedic Services, Congers-Valley Cottage Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and the Clarkstown Police Department all responded as well.
