E-ZPass Billing Error Affects Thousands of Commuter Accounts

A billing mistake earlier this month affected thousands of E-ZPass customers enrolled in the New York State Bridge Authority’s Commuter Plan.
The Authority said about 8,000 accounts in New York and New Jersey were impacted by the issue, which occurred on October 9 and 10.
The Commuter Plan offers frequent users a reduced toll of $1.40 per trip if they make at least 17 trips within a 30-day cycle. Any unused trips are also billed at $1.40 and appear as “Unused Commuter Trips.”
Drivers who believe they were affected should contact the E-ZPass customer service center at 800-333-8655.
