A dog named ginger has been reunited with his worried owner this evening thanks to the efforts of Chaverim of Rockland and emergency services.
At about 1:45 Monday afternoon, residents alerted the Ramapo Police Department to sounds of barking emanating from a storm drain in Wesley Hills. They responded, along with Spring Hill EMS, and the Town of Ramapo Highway Department. Chaverim was in the area, and stopped by to help as well.
Working as a team, they succeeded in extricating the frightened dog named ginger, and transporting it to a nearby animal hospital for evaluation.
It turned out that the desperate owner had been searching for the lost dog since Thursday, and had been handing out flyers in the hopes of locating it. The owner was soon reunited with ginger, thanks to incredible teamwork on a corner of Wesley Hills.
