District Attorney Tom Walsh Announces James McNamee as Detective Lieutenant

District Attorney Tom Walsh announced the appointment of James McNamee as Detective Lieutenant in the Rockland County District Attorneys Office.

Lt. McNamee brings a great deal of experience and expertise to the Rockland County District Attorney's Office and will play an important role in keeping the residents of Rockland County safe. 

Lt. James McNamee was born and raised in the Village of Haverstraw.  The NYPD called and James left RCC for the NYPD Police Academy, graduating in 1991. After graduation, he was assigned to the 47 pct in the Bronx.

James was hired by the Village of Haverstraw PD in 1997. In 2006, the Village and Town merged PD’s, and he became a town police officer. In 2013, he was promoted to Sergeant and worked the midnight shift for many years. During his time with the Haverstraw Police Department, he served as the Town Of Haverstraw PBA President for 6 years. McNamee recently retired from the Town of Haverstraw Police Department.

Rockland County Clerk Donna Silberman administered the oath of office.
